Life has a way of throwing curve balls our way when we least expect it. I choose not to let them hit me, and I choose not to strike out. I’m going to hit one out of the park and dance my way around the bases all the way to home plate. I can hear the music. Can you?
A short visit to the river’s edge Wednesday evening was a peaceful way to close out the day. Countless cottonwood seedpuffs floated on the water, and the cool still air was fragrant with tree blossoms and clusters of wild grapevine bloom.

* * * Tuesday afternoon I walked up the hill which overlooks the river. Bees were buzzing in flowers everywhere I looked. Airborne geese noisily followed the river’s path as smaller birds twittered in the trees. Bright fluffy clouds passed noislessly overhead. Everything was beautiful.
