Halloween Videos

This page of clips is compiled from amateur video I captured during our family Halloween production of 2008. WordPress limits the size of individual files which can be hosted onsite. I got around this limitation by posting multiple short video clips. The little bits I have posted here don’t do justice to the overall experience of visiting in person. Nevertheless I hope you’ll enjoy some of the sights and sounds of our annual Halloween display.

That was a great tour! I would love to have seen it in person.

Wow! What a lot of time and effort and talent went into that! Thank you so much for showing it! Out here in the country we really miss Halloween and this gave us a chance to remember.

It is Julie’s great ambition in life to create the perfect Halloween. I was permanently drafted into the cause many years ago. Although I have done a good share of work over the years, there are many others who have done far much more. Credit and acclaim are due mostly to Julie, David, Robert, Steven, and Jim. Many friends and family members have also generously given of their time and talent over and over again, and our heartfelt appreciation is undying. We are deeply grateful as well to the neighbors who support our efforts, tolerate our mayhem, and visit our displays in generously enthusiastic droves year after year.

This display is incredible! I just kept thinking of Rosanne’s family Halloweens on her show. They so got into the holiday. However, they never did anything to compare with your yard. You just amaze me–all who worked on it.

Thanks Anhinga! :D I’m wondering how Julie is recuperating from it all. I’ve not seen her nor spoken to her since late Halloween night. She did more work than the rest of us, and I know for certain at least three of us are still in pain. ;)

    That witch is so cool.

    Re grave/cubicle: Ha!!!

    Love Zoltan!

Those cobwebs look like some of the real ones we’ve had around Kansas City this year.

That dude lifting his head off is GREAT.

Two years ago I went to my first professional haunted house. I was cowering behind my husband the whole way, but I went! And this year I went to two haunted houses.

Regarding your videos, from my husband who is a theater critic and just wrote about the local haunted houses for The Kansas City Star: “Why, this is Edge of Hell quality!”

Thank you for your generous compliments Donna, and many thanks to your husband too. :)

I’m wondering why you don’t put these on YouTube.

Aha… ;) I have not figured out how to do so without having the quality of the video degrade significantly. Here I have compressed them and clipped them short, but at least they are still watchable. Perhaps, when my life stops being so crazy :| , I will attempt once again to do this. I would love to be able to post my firefly videos, and others as well, on YouTube.
